TERMS & CONDITIONS

PROCESS OF ENTERING

  1. Each teacher, coach, school, or person who wishes to enter participants must register on the website, via the online form or paper registration form.  

  2. Once registration form has been submitted, received, and processed.  The registered contact will receive an email with a reference code and payment link.

PAYMENTS

  1. Entry fees are non-refundable.

  2. All payments must be made by the closing date.

  3. Failure to make payment will result in the participant being considered as not entered.  Invoices can be made if requested.

  4. Payments can be EFT to bank or to the online payless system provided by AE Switch.

  5. All other categories make use of the grade of the participant.

DETAILS OF ENTRIES

  1. All information required on the system must be completed.

  2. Verify details regarding the participant’s age/grade, correct spelling of name, item numbers and codes. The name as entered on the system will be the name that appears on the certificate.
  3. Ensure that participants are entered in the correct category. Participants will be held responsible for submitting accurate details. Incorrect information may lead to disqualification.

  4. Participants may only perform in his/her own age group when entering for individual items.

  5. Groups will be entered under the age of the oldest participant in that group or grade.

  6. Entries close on Tuesday, 31st October 2023.

  7. NO late entries can be accommodated & participants that do not appear on the programme will NOT be allowed to participate in Lydenburg's Got Talent.

WITHDRAWAL OF PARTICIPANTS

  1. Any participant withdrawing from Lydenburg's Got Talent will forfeit the entry fee.

  2. If an individual participant withdraws, he/she cannot be replaced by another participant. Certificates are pre-printed and therefore no name changes will be made.

PROGRAMME

  1. It is of utmost importance to stick to the time allowed per item as outlined in the division prospectus. Time allowed may NOT be exceeded.

  2. NO participant’s time slot will be changed during adjudication.

  3. Latest Covid-19 regulations must be adhered to at all times.

  4. Load-shedding may disrupt the programme. but cannot be held liable for unforeseen issues.

VENUES

  1. Adjudication of all divisions will take place at the Lewende Woord auditorium.

CHECK IN REGISTRATION

  1. All participants must register on the day of their performance and must be ready 1 hour before their performance day.  

  2. Registration tables will be allocated at back of backstage entrance.

CERTIFICATES

Adjudicators will award certificates according to the following scale:

90+        PLATINUM (A++ - Outstanding)

85 – 89     GOLD+ (A+ - Excellent)

80 – 84     GOLD (A - Very Good)

75 – 79     SILVER (B+ - Good)

70 –74        BRONZE (B - FAIR)

<69        COPPER (C – PLEASANT)

  1. Each participant taking part will receive a certificate.  Names on certificates are pulled from the entry system. Any spelling mistake was made when the performer was entered, not during printing. A reprint may be requested at the venue. Please note that an admin fee will be charged.

  2. The adjudicator’s decision is final and no discussion with the adjudicator will be allowed.

  3. Adjudicators may disqualify participants in the case of non-adherence to the rules and regulations of the Eisteddfod or in the event of plagiarism.

  4. NO participants, coaches, parents etc. will be allowed at the adjudicator’s table during adjudication.

LANGUAGE & DRESS CODE

  1. No prejudicial material, derogatory language, costumes or gestures will be allowed during any of the performances and may lead to disqualification.

  2. No texts of a sensitive, political or blasphemous nature will be allowed.

  3. Please ensure that the performance content is age-appropriate.

PARTICIPANTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

  1. Special arrangements have been made to accommodate special needs.

  2. They may enter any item and will be adjudicated separately.

GALA EVENING

  1. Awards will be presented by the adjudicator at the end of each individual Competitive Section.

  2. Participants must enter for a minimum of 3 divisions to qualify for the Versatility Trophy.

  3.  The Versatility trophy will be awarded at the Gala evening to the winner in both the junior and senior categories. A formula is used to determine the winner: The number of divisions the participant has entered as well as the highest average marks achieved are considered.

  4. The Gala evening takes place at Lewende Word on the 11th of November 2023 with a dress rehearsal on the morning of the 11th November.

INDEMNITY

  1. Lydenburgs Got Talent, staff, volunteers, and hosts cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft or injury of any person on the premises sustained during the week performances or Gala evening.

  2. Provision has been made for security guards in the parking areas.

  3. Art work MUST be collected after the gala event and by no later than two weeks after event.  Lydenburg’s Got Talent reserves the right to destroy all art work that has not been collected in 14 working days of the collection date.
